As part of our commemorations, we'll be exploring how World War One affected Salford and its people. We'll be looking at the histories and stories of Salford people who lived through the conflict and sharing how their lives were changed forever because of the war.

View the histories and discover more about how the war shaped the city and Salfordians forever.

We're looking to add to our collection of histories, so we'd love to hear from you. If you have parents, grandparents, friends or other relatives who had a World War One story or memory, then please share with us. Alternatively, if you have any World War One artefacts, images or special items you want to share, please get in touch.

Desmond Royle, a volunteer at the Imperial War Museum North.

Desmond assists visitors to research their family members who served in World War One. He has also set up a community page on Lives of the First World War, a digital memorial delivered by the Imperial War Museum and added over a hundred names of men from the Salford Pals battalions.
