From 2014 until 2018, Salford will join nations, communities and individuals across the world in commemorating the centenary of World War One.

Salford is marking the centenary with a range of events, exhibitions and engagement projects, looking back one hundred years to look at how the war shaped the city and its people.

This is your chance to be part of a city wide commemoration. Share your experiences and stories, discover more about what the war meant to Salford and encourage future generations to remember those who lived, fought and died in the First World War.

The Salford commemoration programme is led by Salford City Council and Salford Community Leisure and is part of the national First World War Centenary Partnership, led by Imperial War Museums.

Take a look at our Salford Remembers booklet for an overview of some Salford stories during WW1 including work going on to commemorate the four year centenary and how you can get involved.
